Pre-Fill Custom Tag Field/Template on Import?

Apologies if this has been asked/discussed on the forum; I wasn't able to find anything relating to importing templates.

I'm importing a very large batch of albums into CDPedia and I want to apply the same Custom Tag to each because I have a smart collection based on that Custom Tag. For example, I want every album to be tagged with 'Sally' because, even though these are all part of one collection, I want Sally to see all of her albums separately. I'd like to avoid creating a new collection just because I really like having everything in one collection and then displaying them based on Tags. I actually want every album that I add in this batch to carry two tags, such as 'Sally' and 'For Sale'.

Is it possible to use some type of importing filter so that the Custom Tag 1 field always contains 'Sally' and 'For Sale' without me having to add it to the Main screen and populating that field?

Hopefully that question makes sense.

You can't pre-fill the tags but if you're adding the same tag to all entries you can select all (Command=A) and open the Edit window. In the multiple edit field that appears add 'Sally' and 'For Sale' into the tags field and press the 'OK' button.

Thanks, Nora. That's what I've been doing for smaller import sets but was hoping there was a way to pre-populate those tags before I start a big batch in the hundreds. It looks like I can create a new collection called "Sally Temp Import", import everything there, Command-A tag everything in the new collection (which also becomes part of my main Library), and then just delete "Sally Temp Import." From a quick test it looks like anything imported into a collection stays in the Library after a collection is deleted.

You shouldn't have to create a new collection before the import. By default all imports are placed in a library-excluded collection first so you can check things went well and in your case apply whatever tags or other info might be missing. Then make the collection part of your Library and delete it.
