Amazon Germany now is my default site?!?!

Not sure how, but the URL attached to NEW pedia profiles is now Amazon Germany! Rather than Amazon.com.

I'm not sure how to correct this and return to the previous Amazon.com default I've used for years, I don't see any user available choices in preferences as to which Amazon Country you get your information from. I suspect trying out a template on your site may have changed this inadvertently, but I'm not certain. I seem to recall one template was developed by a German Pedia user.

Before I make a mess of my library, I'm hoping you can help. Should I do a complete removal and reinstall of DVDpedia?

Plus, for some reason, the autocomplete values are incorrect now. For example, the autocomplete results for "Studio" don't display MGM, Sony, Fox. They now show the results for "Sound". Which is the autocomplete prior to it on the list. None of the autocomplete results are actually for the value I have selected. I use autocomplete all the time, and don't want to mess up my database.

Unsure if these two issues are related, I first noticed these two issues after my Snow Leopard upgrade. I do regular backups, but have not tried to restore from backup yet. How can I fix this?

Hi,

The Amazon country site should not change from where the information originally came from. Glad to hear you do regular backups but it's something that can be fixed easily (also the autofill by doing a rebuild under the preferences). But before we do any of that we would love to investigate further make sure there is no bug. Could you kindly send us your database file and let us know what movies now point to the German site? You will find the database file in your data folder in ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/Database.pediadata. Select that file and use the compress command under the file menu to create a zip version to email.

Also in the same folder you will find a file called "autofill.xml" that defines all your customized autofill values, could you also send us that file.

I'm so embarrassed that I named a custom field with a field name already used by DVDpedia. This caused a shift in my autofill entries by one due to this error on my part. Thanks for catching my screwup.

Additionally, so far all my new entries are pointing to Amazon.com! Thanks for whatever you did to correct this with the beta release. Even Hair and Mirrors are pointing to Amazon.com instead of the German Site.

Thank you for all the help in debugging the program. It's entirely our fault with the custom field naming. We thought about the possible conflict when introducing custom fields. We had a choice to forbid the same name (not as easy as it sounds as our program comes in 5 languages) or make sure to take it into account. We choose the later and we work around it by appending (custom) to the name if necessary. Unfortunately, the pop-up for the autofill in the preference window got by us and hence why everything was shifted. Internally "custom1" tag is used so there is no conflict in the code, it was just a display issue.
