Lost DVD's from library, but still have info in folders..

Hey everyone... I am operating DVDpedia 4.5.3.

Two nights ago, I programmed 4 new DVDs into my library, making the total 893. However, today when I opened it up (and this is the first time this has ever happened), my library was down to 24 for some reason. My "Borrowed" section had 3 movies in it, and even still contained one of the movies that it said was not in the library any longer.

Not sure what happened, but here is something else that may help:

- When I go to library/caches/metadata/DVDpedia, all of my movies are still listed in this folder. They are all numbered, and look like this... "733.pedia_md_d", then "734.pedia_md_d", and so on. It appears as though they still have all the info when I click on them individually and look at the preview on the side (including the cover art).

Does this mean I still have them? Cuz if I do, I cannot import them as a library. Can I pull these back into my program somehow? Dragging and dropping doesn't work either. Just looking for a little help here. That'd be great! Thank you for the support.

We haven't heard of that happening before that entries are simply lost overnight. DVDpedia is set to automatically save entries every time you press the 'Add' button.

Could you send us your Database.pediadata file as well as any backup...pediadata files so we can take a look at your data directly here? You'll find the files in your Home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/. Please archive the files before sending them to save space. (Select them and choose 'Archive' or 'Compress' from the File menu. That'll create a folder called 'Archive.zip' which you can then attach to the email.) You'll find our email address on the support page.

Also, could you please have a look at your console log, see if there are any messages from DVDpedia? You can access the console log via the application 'Console', located inside your Applications/Utilities. The newer messages are towards the end of the log. If there was anything going wrong with DVDpedia, the errors would be reported here.

The pedia_md_d files are the index files that Spotlight creates for indexing the data. If worse comes to worse you can import your data from those files but the .pediadata files, especially the backups, should have most of your information.
